Free coach transport to the National Armed Forces Day in Salisbury on Saturday 29 June is being offered on a first come, first served basis by Marlborough’s branch of the Royal British Legion with support from the Marlborough Area Board.
The pick up point will be in Marlborough High Street at 8.00am outside Lloyds Bank with an additional earlier stop in Ramsbury at 07:45 if required.
Visitors will arrive in Salisbury in time to see the large military parade which will be led by mounted dutymen from the Household Mounted Division and will include the Band of the Royal Marines, the Band of the RAF Regiment, 1 Military Working Dogs Regiment, the Kings Royal Hussars, 22 Engineer Regiment Royal Engineers and many other representatives of the Armed Forces. The Royal Air Force Red Arrows will make their famous Fly Past and HRH The Princess Royal will be in attendance for this spectacular Parade.
After the Parade the Marlborough party will be taken to Hudson’s Field where there will be an air show, military demonstrations and live entertainment. The coach will leave Hudson’s Field at 5.00pm for the journey home.
Whilst the coach journey and the tickets into Hudson’s Field are complimentary, because of the limited space available organisers need to know how many people will be attending. All members of the public are invited to apply for this trip on a first come first served basis but preference will be given to members of the Armed Forces past and present.
To apply and reserve your tickets please contact me Cllr Stewart Dobson on 01672 513181 or e-mail: stewart.dobson@yahoo.co.uk
